Flat Rate FUE Transplants

The world of hair restoration can be a complicated place, especially when it comes to pricing. There is a broad range of surgical techniques, pricing structures, and standards. Many patients are looking for a clinic that offers clear, straightforward pricing instead of vague pricing structures that leave a lot of room for added fees. This naturally leads to many patients asking, “Where can I flat rate FUE transplants?” When it comes to flat rate FUE transplants pricing is not as simple as it might seem. In this article, we will discuss transplant pricing structure and how to find quality service at a reasonable price.

Is It Hard to Find Flat Rate FUE Transplants?

In order to understand why flat rate pricing for FUE is difficult, it is helpful to understand a little bit about how this surgery is performed. In order to understand FUE, we need to look at the other major type of hair transplant surgery: FUT. FUT is a procedure in which the hair follicles are extracted from the back of the head along with a thin strip of the scalp tissue. During this procedure, the surgeon makes a small horizontal incision usually along the back or sides of the head. From here, the surgical team removes the follicular grafts from the scalp tissue and prepares them to be transplanted.

On the other hand, with FUE the follicular grafts are removed individually in a diffuse pattern, instead of in one long strip. The surgeon begins by shaving the donor area close to the scalp before using a tiny micropunch tool to remove the grafts. The surgical team then sorts the grafts according to which are the healthiest and most viable and places them into an active plasma solution to prolong their viability until they are transplanted. FUE is a very delicate procedure that requires attention to detail and a practiced hand. If the hair follicle is extracted at the wrong angle, it can get transected, or damaged.

Damage to the hair follicle prevents the new grafts from being successfully transplanted. A skilled surgeon capable of performing successful FUE will have many hours of practice performing this delicate surgery. They will also have trained in the relevant medical fields to be able to perform this surgery with precision and avoid visible scarring.

Flat Rate FUT is More Common

Because of the nature of how the grafts are harvested, FUT is generally less time-consuming of a procedure than FUE. It is easier and faster to remove the follicular grafts from the scalp tissue without transecting them. Both types of surgery are inpatient procedures, performed under local anesthesia, meaning you will be awake. Both have similar rates of success when performed by a qualified surgeon. Best of all, both FUE and FUT procedures leave natural, lifelong results of new hair growth. There are several reasons why one type of surgery may be more suited to a patient than another.

Why Choose FUT?

Patients opt for FUT because it is less time-consuming for the surgeon, and therefore less expensive. For example, at Best Hair Transplant we offer flat rates on our FUT surgeries of $10,000 for 2,500-3,000 grafts and $8,750 for 1,500 to 2,500 grafts. Patients also opt for FUT because they don’t have to sacrifice any of their existing hair growth. That is, apart from the strip of the scalp that is removed from the donor site. The surrounding area does not need to be shaved, so the incision is easily hidden by the surrounding hair. Many women and patients that like to wear their hair long, opt for this surgery.

Why Choose FUE?

Patients tend to choose FUE because the recovery time is shorter. Additionally, there is less discomfort than with FUT because there is no suturing at the donor sites. Many FUE transplant patients are able to return to work and resume their normal activities within a few days of surgery. FUE is also a great option for people who prefer to wear their hair shaved close to their head.

It is also a great option for patients that want to restore hair in smaller more concentrated areas of the scalp, such as the crown of the head, or around the hairline. FUE is also a great option for patients who want transplants for their facial hair, such as increasing the density of a beard or mustache, or perhaps the sideburns or eyebrows.

Flat Rate FUE Transplants May Be Deceiving

Robotic Hair Transplants

Some hair clinics market flat rate FUE surgery performed with the assistance of robotic transplant machines such as the ARTAS or the Neograft.  The makers of these machines claim that these devices use algorithms to determine which follicular grafts are of the highest quality and suitable to be transplanted.

What many patients don’t know is that these machines have only been cleared by the FDA for use in patients with dark, straight hair. If your hair is a lighter shade, or curly or kinky in texture, these machines are not equipped to assess your hair pattern in the same way. We at Best Hair Transplant feel that any time saved during the graft harvesting stage is a drop in the bucket compared to the increased risk of transected grafts. We also feel that there is no substitute for the practiced and well-trained hands of a doctor.

Affordable Hair Transplants

While we don’t off flat-rate FUE transplants, we do offer simple per-graft pricing for our FUE surgeries. We charge a straightforward price per graft rate on our FUE transplants. Compared to other clinics in the US we offer some of the most competitive prices on FUE. Most clinics in our area charge between $6 and $12 per graft. Some are even more expensive. However, we keep prices low. In addition to this, we offer additional discounts for cash payments. When you schedule your complimentary consultation, ask us about the free add-on that comes with our FUE service.

We intentionally designed our business with a lean overhead. That way we pass on the maximum amount of savings to our patients. After all, cosmetic surgeries are not typically covered by insurance, meaning that this surgery is an out-of-pocket expense. There are certain financing programs like CareCredit that market themselves as a financing option for cosmetic surgery. However, we advise our patients against enrolling in such programs.

Sadly these financing programs lure customers in with the promise of low interest rates. However, what they fail to disclose is that if customers miss even one payment a whole backlog of high-interest rates and hidden fees trigger. This leaves patients owing significantly more than if they had just paid for the service out of pocket. That’s why we at Best Hair Transplant strive to make our treatments as affordable to the everyday person as possible. We want our services to be accessible and we make it our mission to educate our patients so they don’t get taken advantage of by unscrupulous clinics.

Now That You Understand FUE Transplant Pricing

Once you understand the delicate work that goes into a high-quality FUE procedure, it becomes clearer as to why flat rate FUE pricing is not the norm when it comes to this surgery. There are several unpredictable variables from person to person. Only a skilled surgeon will be able to make the call over the course of your treatment. We want you to get the best value for your money. That is why we charge per graft pricing instead of flat rate FUE transplants.

You may hear of some clinics offering a service called “graft splitting”. Many people don’t know that a follicular graft produces multiple hairs, anywhere from 4-12 per graft. These clinics make it seem like you are purchasing more hair than you actually are. After all, each individual graft is divided into individual hairs. These types of practices also increase the risk of graft transection and damage, putting you at higher risk for a transplant that looks sparse, artificial, and “pluggy”. That’s the last thing you want.

At Best Hair Transplant, we make it a priority to educate our patients on the many options for treatment. That way you make the choice that is most suitable for you. We want our patients empowered with the best knowledge available so they feel confident in their decision. We want you to find the best treatment plan possible, even if it’s not with us. If you’re curious about learning more about our FUE services or price estimate, contact us today for a complimentary consultation. We never pressure our patients into fast sales. We’re happy to provide you with referrals and before & after photos that demonstrate our commitment to great results.
