Are There Any Santa Maria Hair Transplant Options?
Santa Barbara California isn’t exactly a hot spot for the Hair transplant industry. In fact, those looking for a Santa Barbara hair transplant have few options without travel options. Not to say that Santa Barbara isn’t a beautiful central Californian coastal town, it is. The Santa Barbra hair transplant industry isn’t as thriving as it is just down the highway in Los Angeles.
Santa Barbra California is nestled in between the scenic Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, creating one of the most ideal landscapes for the modern tourist. The beautiful sights to see along with the warm coastal almost Mediterranean climate has folks calling Santa Barbara the “American Riviera” (Horowitz, 2021). The Santa Barbra resorts are some of the best in the business with AAA four-diamond properties littering the coast. The Hilton Santa Barbara, the Rosewood Miramar, and the Hotel Californian come to mind. However, nice weather and classy resorts do little good if you are looking for a Santa Barbra hair transplant.
Santa Barbara Hair Transplant and Hair Transplant Options
If you are looking to spend the day soaking up some rays while sipping on some cocktails with little umbrellas in them, Santa Barbara is the spot for you. However, if you are seeking a Santa Barbara hair transplant, you will find that your options are somewhat limited. If you want to do the quick, cheap, and easy route then there will be a multitude of hair salons offering wigs for sale, hair extensions, sprays, and steroids. There are also companies that tattoo your scalp in an attempt to make it look fuller.
When it comes to reputable and well-established Santa Barbara hair transplant facilities your options are pretty slim. In order to convince you to make the trip from Santa Barbara to LA, we’ve provided info about the Santa Barbara hair transplant clinics below.
Gregory Keller Plastic Surgery in Santa Barbara, CA
Gregory Keller Plastic Surgery is a clinic in Santa Barbara that specializes in facial plastic surgery. They practice what is called “Integrative Plastic Surgery”. This includes both invasive and non-invasive injectables, laser treatments, ultrasounds, and other practices.
Keller Plastic Surgery does offer hair restoration procedures including Acell PRP. PRP hair replacement therapy is a process where Platelet Rich Plasma is removed from the tissue below the skin and is laden with stem cells. Next, the plasma is processed and injected into the scalp. Finally, the cells interact with the damaged tissue causing hair to regrow in that area. The recovery from this process is relatively quick with minor residual irritation that normally subsides within two days.
The Center for Dermatology Care in Santa Barbara, CA
Another Santa Barbara hair transplant clinic is The Center for Dermatology Care. This clinic is operated by Doctor Andrew Kaufman. Dr. Kaufman is a Dermatologic surgeon that specializes in Mohs surgery. He’s also the Medical Director of the Center for Dermatology Care in Thousand Oaks California.
Mohs surgery is a skin cancer treatment procedure where layers of cancerous tissue are removed and examined under a microscope, layer by layer. One layer at a time the tissue is removed and examined for cancer cells until no more cancer is detected. This process ensures that as little as possible normal tissue that is not cancer-ridden is removed.
The Center for Dermatology Care does offer Santa Barbara hair transplants, but it seems that the main focus for the services offered there is medical and cosmetic skin care procedures. The Center for Dermatology Care’s Yelp reviews are far from fantastic coming in at 3.5 stars. I don’t know about you but I’d prefer a better reputation when choosing a hair restoration surgeon.
Santa Barbara Plastic Surgery Center
The Santa Barbara Plastic Surgery Center is another clinic that offers Santa Barbara hair transplants along with most other standard plastic surgery procedures. The chief plastic surgeon at the Santa Barbara Plastic Surgery Center is Dr. Wesley Shcooler.
At this center, it appears that they only offer Follicular Unit Excision (FUE) hair transplant surgery. An FUE hair transplant is a process where a surgeon carefully extracts individual hair follicles using a micro-punch device, then processes the hair follicle then re-implants the processed follicle back into the scalp.
This process is much less invasive than the Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) technique, which harvests “strips” of hair follicles. However, the process takes a great deal more time to complete. The FUE technique causes less discomfort than FUT. However, the “donor zone” for FUE must be larger than the FUT technique and therefore the chance of post-procedure scarring around the donor zone is greater with FUE than with the FUT hair transplant techniques.
Not Many Choices in Santa Barbara
At the time of the writing of this article, the above seems to the whole of the currently operating clinics offering Santa Barbara hair transplants. Also, it’s clear that there isn’t a single hair transplant specialist operating out of Santa Barbara California. It seems, as least as far as our research can tell, all the physicians offering Santa Barbara hair transplants specialize in other fields of dermatology and not in hair transplants themselves.
Good Cappuccinos and Hair Transplants
Let’s imagine that you wake up one morning and just NEED a great cup of cappuccino. That need is the one and only driving force in your life at that time. Now, you have a coffee pot at home, but a boring old cup of Folgers just isn’t going to cut it this day. Now, since you live in a metropolitan area you have many options on where to go to get this cup of cappuccino.
The first and easiest option would be to go across the street to the restaurant that has an espresso machine that they use twice a week or so if the need arises. Now, whether the sever on duty knows how to use the machine is a different story. Or, even given a knowledge of how to use the expresso machine, chances are that server isn’t skilled in the fine art of the barista by any means. But on the other hand, you will get the caffeine and it’s a quick and easy solution.
Your other option is to dive a few minutes down the road to the well-renowned, highly-reviewed coffee shop that specializes in cappuccinos. The barista there makes 150 cappuccinos a day, every single day, and that coffee shop has all the best cappuccino machines and flavors. What are you going to choose when you want the best cappuccino available on the market?
Having a full head of natural-looking hair and the confidence that goes along with it is much more important than a good cup of coffee. I’m sure you see where I’m going with this.
Santa Barbara Hair Transplant Patients Who Travel to LA for their Procedure Save Money
Santa Barbara California is about a two-hour drive to Los Angeles with moderate traffic. If you’re lucky that’s not even a drive requiring a gas for a snack break. Also, that drive down the coast on the 101 has some great scenery to enjoy. You roll down the window, put on your favorite music and just cruise down the coast and before you know it, you’re in the city.
We all know Los Angeles is not by far the cheapest place in the world but the cost of living in L.A, pales in comparison to Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara California is actually one of the most expensive places to live in the world. Yup, you read that right. According to livingcost.org, Santa Barbara ranks 35th most expensive place to live on the planet Earth. That’s in the top 0.4%. Everything in Santa Barbara is expensive, from the cappuccino to the cost of hair transplant procedures. Sure, L.A. traffic isn’t a fun time, nor is the price of gas nowadays but I guarantee that the money you will save by traveling to L.A., instead of paying for a Santa Barabra hair transplant would be well worth the traffic.
