If you’re looking to regrow lost hair without resorting to costly surgical procedures, you’ve likely looked into LLLT. Low-level laser therapy is a technology that utilizes red lasers to stimulate and encourage hair growth. But there are many devices on the market which use (or claim to use) LLLT technology. Today, we will look at iGrow Vs Laser Cap devices to find out which is better.
The iGrow helmet is a low-grade hair restoration device that bills itself as an LLLT system used to treat “natural thinning, balding, and Alopecia” in both men and women. Depending on which source you go to, the device must be used for upwards of 10-25 minutes per day. Furthermore, the device must be used every other day for the first 4-6 months.
Unlike higher grade LLLT devices, the iGrow helmet consisting of only 21 lasers and 30 LEDs. That’s on the extremely low end of low-level lasers. Also, please note that LEDs are not proven to restore or reverse hair loss.
Additionally, the iGrow apparently comes with a 6-month money-back guarantee. That sounds nice, right? 6 months to give it a try? Well, it’s a bit more complicated than that. According to iGrow’s own website, you actually have to use the device for all 6 months. You can’t return it before. Then, if 6 months pass and you don’t see any results, you have 30 days to return the device. However, you have to pay for shipping. And you have to pay for handling charges (whatever those are). Finally, the fine print states that there will be an 18% restocking fee. In the end, if you’re unsatisfied, you’ll end up losing about 25% of what you paid for your “free trial.” Even worse, the iGrow only comes with a 1-year warranty. After that, it appears you’ll be footing the bill if it breaks or fails to function.
From its outward appearance, the iGrow helmet appears to be made of very cheap parts. The device is mostly plastic and it looks like it would break apart quite easily. This is not good as the device does not fit snuggly on your scalp. Therefore, should any of it break, it would no longer stay in place. Consequently, it would become even more cumbersome.
Additionally, while this doesn’t matter in regards to device functionality, it is worth noting that the iGrow helmet looks absolutely ridiculous. Unlike the Capillus 312 RX prescription lasercap device, the iGrow would not be able to be used outside of your home. The iGrow helmet should be worn far away from judging eyes and in as private of a location as possible. Personally, we’d be embarrassed to wear it around even the closest of family. If you choose iGrow Vs Laser Cap, be prepared to look like a shoddy robot or Tron Guy. In fact, that’s doing a disservice to Tron Guy. The iGrow looks much weirder as is far more offputting. You’ll look more like Frankenstein’s monster. All you need are some bolts in your neck and your costume will be complete.
Real Reviews for iGrow on Amazon
“Paid over $600 for the unit. Use of it has never resulted in any more hair on my head. It was a total waste of money, and the price was certainly not insignificant. Additionally, the unit just died on me and will not even turn on anymore….but that doesn’t matter since it never helped anyway.”– Rod –
“I purchased this last year… If you are a male and are expecting this to help with hair loss, then save your time and your money and get minoxidil. I used this for almost a year and saw no changes… In fact, my hair continued to fall out. LLLT therapy might work, but I feel like the LEDs in this device are too weak to do anything significant.”Matt
“This helmet dried my scalp so bad that I had to apply lots of oil in hopes that it will get better. After six months I stopped trying because I had twice less hair since I started. Also, the 4 pins put a lot of pressure on your scalp. It’s very painful to use it for 25 minutes.”Eli
Capillus Laser Cap LLLT
Capillus laser therapy cap is a physician-recommended, FDA-cleared treatment clinically proven to regrow thinning hair and prevent further progression of hair loss due to androgenetic alopecia (pattern balding). Patients typically see results within 2-4 months.
The Capillus Laser Cap uses Low-Level-Laser Therapy (LLLT) to re-energize inactive hair follicles. The laser light is absorbed by cells deep within the hair follicle, providing energy to enhance cellular respiration and hair growth. As a result, follicles become emerge from their inactive state or begin to grow back. The result – thicker, healthier hair.
The flex fitting cap has the most number of lasers and simultaneous coverage of any laser cap device on the market. Compared with other high-end LLLT devices, the Capillus RX 312 offers 40 more lasers than commonly-available 272 models. Best of all, it comes with a 5 year warranty. And unlike the iGrow, Capillus will take care of all costs to repair your device should it fail or underperform due to craftsmanship issues.
Capillus is very discreet. And this is very important. Unlike iGrow, which should only be used in a cave far away from other humans, your Capillus laser cap can be worn under any hat while you’re at home or on the go. It can be your little secret. Additionally, the Capillus RX 312 is made of high-quality materials. You can see and feel the difference.
Additionally, the Capillus Laser Cap is a higher-quality device than iGrow. By far, actually. First of all, Capillus only uses lasers. They do not crowd their product with pointless LEDs. This is a very positive distinction between the two products, as again, LEDs don’t help.
Furthermore, the device contains an impressive 312 diodes, all fitted snugly into a comfortable hypoallergenic base. When it comes to comparing iGrow Vs CapillusRX™ Laser Cap, the time it takes to deliver the daily dose is much less as well. It requires the user to wear the cap for only six-minutes per day. That’s pretty amazing!
